Ko tāuake mahi | What you will be doing

As the Head of Health Intelligence at Pegasus Health, you will be leading Pegasus Health’s intelligence function to provide information and insights to key stakeholders that improve organisational performance, help our general practices network deliver better health care, and inform and influence national primary care policy.

The role requires an experienced data leader who can translate strategy into practical, high-value intelligence services, bridging business and technical perspectives and grow the value proposition and profile of the Health Intelligence service for both internal and external stakeholders.

As Head of Health Intelligence, you will:

  • Develop and execute an intelligence roadmap for Pegasus Health; champion the use of health information to inform strategy; and advise senior management and the Board on data protection, management and use.
  • Establish and maintain effective data governance for Pegasus Health and contribute to system-level data governance.
  • Apply data governance policies and processes to Health Intelligence products, with a focus on privacy, information security, and data standards.
  • Build strong relationships across Pegasus Health, primary and community services, and Te Whatu Ora to strengthen data networks.
  • Lead a high-performing team of six experienced data specialists.

Ko ngāpūkengaōu | What you will bring:

  • 58 years’ experience leading and developing a business intelligence function, ideally in primary health care.
  • Technical experience that may include data warehouse engineering, data architecture, reporting and dashboard development, and analytics.
  • Health informatics experience, including knowledge of data standards, population health analytics, insight development and decision support.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to build relationships at all levels and provide advice to senior leaders.
  • Clear, confident communication skills.
  • Outcome-focused and solution-oriented, with an enquiring and innovative mindset.
